Vyomax Maxi Carbs Powder is 100% Maltodextrin. Great for high intensity aerobic sports ie, cycling, running and weight training. To improve athletic performance and reduce glycogen depletion in muscle tissue, the body requires regular intakes of high glycaemic-index carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are the fuel that your body uses during high intensity exercises to significantly improve performance and recovery, it is important to take the correct carbohydrates at the correct time. As the muscle can only store a limited amount of carbohydrates, this needs to be at as maximum level before exercise and more importantly, during and after exercise.

"Mixes easily with water and tastes fine; mixes well with protein shakes; big tub sometimes difficult to open but suppose that's better than being to easy; compared to LA Muscle Maltomass this product is by far better value because, after all, maltodextrin is maltodextrin."

Q If the majority of the carb powders are 100% Maltodextrin, does it matter which brand I choose? Surely its all the same?

If on the product label it states 100% Maltodextrin then yes its all the same and any brand would be fine. Although some maltodextins have different absorbtion rates (look for the words "Dextrose Equivalent" or "DE" or some mention of it being absorbed more slowly than typical maltodextrin).

Q Will carbohydrated powder put weight on me if i use it enough or does it have to come form foods and also is phd whey and anabolic halo the best combination or would you recomend adding a pre-workout drink ? and do you need amino acids tablets as well ? sorry for all the questions just want to get my order right thanks

If you're already eating enough calories, then adding a carb powder will add weight - some of which may be fat (depends on a lot of factors - genetics, training, etc). The same if you get excess carbs from food. The PhD whey + Halo for post-workout is excellent (and Whey is perfect for adding throughout the day for extra protein). If you are lacking motivation or an excellent pump in the gym, then try a pre-workout product - they really jack you up and increase pumps. If you have the money (and especially if you don't have too much protein leading up to workout time) then having BCAAs or Essential Aminos before training can really boost recovery and prevent muscle breakdown during the workout.

Hi, I have checked the directions for use with regards to Maxi Carbs Powder via the Vyomax website, which are as follows: "Before workout: Add two - four scoops to 500ml water, mix in a shaker and drink 30 minutes before your workout. During workout: Add one scoop to 500ml water, mix in a shaker and sip throughout your workout. After workout: Add one scoop to 500ml water, mix in a shaker and drink after your workout." The purpose of said product is to provide high-glycaemic carbohydrates in order to fuel your muscles prior to high-intensity workouts, thus avoiding glycogen depletion and promoting muscle repair and recovery. I would therefore, advocate that you use this solely on training days; it would be fine to take on non-training days, but you may find that balanced eating alone will be enough to maintain glycogen stores on these occasions (they will not need to be as high if not exercising, but eating good quality carbohydrates on non-training days will assist with carb-loading). I would imagine that 5kg will be enough, though this will depend on how many times a week you partake in training sessions, of course, plus the size of your servings. I hope the above information assists with your query. Good luck with the swim - that will be quite an achievement!

Individuals have their own health and fitness goals, therefore there is no 'black and white' specification as to how much of the carb powder you would need. Factors will include how often you are exercising, as well as the type of the wok you are doing, e.g. are you carrying out cardiovascular exercise such as cycling, running, swimming etc.? Other things to consider are your height and build, as well as appetite; carb powders usually have two main uses - to fuel the muscles with high-glycaemic index (fast release) carbs prior to aerobic/high intensity exercise, and to provide dietary calories - perhaps if an individual finds it difficult to obtain all of the calories they need from their daily meals. The latter is especially applicable if you are looking to gain lean mass. I would recommend taking one serving of carb powder prior to your workouts, and then as and when necessary, taking the above points into account. I hope this information is useful.

You can take this pre-workout yeah, We would recommend around an 30-60 minutes before depending on how many servings you are having, with the more servings you have give your body more time to digest the carbs.

This product contains 100% Maltodextrin and contains no additional sugar. Maltodextrin is considered to contain fewer calories than sugar. While considered to be a carbohydrate, maltodextrin is understood to be more easily digested than some other forms of carbohydrates, leaving behind less of the potential for health issues.
